What is the best time for me to exercise?

Q: I am a 25 years old call centre employee, 160 cm tall and weigh 70 kg. My work shift is from 5.30 pm to 2.30 am. Could you please tell me what is the best time for me to exercise? Should I exercise before going to office or after returning from office?

A:This is a difficult one to address as your body clock is as individual and your timings go by the waking hours you put in. So you will have to try out a couple of trips to the gym at different times and then come to a time that is comfortable to you. You could try to workout before you get to work, but if that leaves you feeling tired at work, then try going to the gym after you have got up in the morning. Just remember to leave a gap of 2 hours between your meals and your workout. And know that exercising too close to your sleep time could interfere in your quality of sleep.
