What is the appropriate treatment of warts?

Q: Can I use trichloroacetic acid (TCA) for suspected warts? Are there any side effects?

A:I would strongly suggest you show yourself to a competent dermatologist and get the diagnosis confirmed. Anyway, TCA is not the preferred treatment for warts. The side effects would include: possible burning and damage of skin immediately below and surrounding the wart, pain and some times permanent scar if TCA is used in higher concentrations. My treatments of choice for warts are: Electrocauterisation; cryotherapy and if the patient can afford and insists - laser.
