What does the scan report indicate?
Q: We are expecting our second child who is 27 weeks old. During a routine scan, we came across the following term in the scan report - Bilateral prominence of occipital horn of lateral ventricles detected. Is this a cause for concern? What does it mean? According to our doctor, apart from the above, everything else is normal in the scan report.
A:Prominent occipital horns need to be measured to assess them adequately. The size of the atrium of the lateral ventricles is also necessary for coming to any conclusions as are serial comparisons. If this information is available, an appropriate prognosis can be assigned.
