What do recurrent episodes of nasal bleeding indicate?
Q: My nine years old son had nasal bleeding three days back. He had this twice before the recent incident- once two years back and once, two months back. The doctor asked us to get a certain test done, which reported ASO titre - 846 IU/ml, Platelet count – 230,000; ESR average - 38.5 mm/first hr; BT - 45 sec; CT - 3.55 min; SGPT - 33 u/l. What does the report state?
A:Nasal bleeding has nothing to do with a high ASO titre. Nasal bleeding occasionally is not uncommon and needs no special treatment other than preventing nasal drying by using saline nasal drops. As for the ASO titre speak to your doctor and ask if any further investigations are needed.
