Portal vein measured 8mm. Common duct measured 3mm. Both had normal dimensions. Pancreas had normal echotexture. Spleen was normal in size and echotexture. Right kideny was normal in size and echotexture. One calculus measuring 4mm in dimension was imaged within the collecting system. There was no hydronephrosis. Left kideny was normal in size and echotexture. One calculus measuring 4mm in dimension was imaged within the collecting system. There was no hydronephrosis. Bladder was normal. No calculus or debris. Prostrate was normal in size and echotexture. No free fluid in the abdomen. Impression: Normal liver, gall bladder, spleen and pancreas. One renal calculus right kidney, one renal calculus left kidney. Normal bladder and prostate. Urine analysis: Reaction (ph) : 7.0 Colour : STRAW Albumin (protein) : NIL Ketone : Negative Bilirubin : Negative Bile salts : Negative Deposits : RBC-NIL; Pus cells-NIL; Sugar-NIL; Phosphate-NIL; Urobilinogen-Normal; Bile Pigments- Negative; Nitrite-Negative. I have not yet seen the doctor after I got my test results. Some of my friends say it might be a kidney problem, others say it might be appendicitis while some feel it might be a stone problem.

A:You have stones in your kidney, one in each. The pain in your lower abdomen was because of these stones. You have to take the following precautions: 1. Drink plenty of water, atleast 2-3 lts per day 2. Get a urine culture test done, because stones can be a focus of infection and can trigger a Urinary tract infection. If some bugs are grown on the culture, then we give you antibiotics. 3. If the pain lower abdomen recurs, take a tablet like Spasmoproxyvon or Spasmindon 4. Get a test called Intravenous pyelogram done. It will help us localize the location and size of the stone. 5. Since you have stones in both kidney consult a doctor to rule out a condition known as Hyperparathyroidism.
