In the next pregnancy, before planning, should get blood and urine tests to find out the cause, like VDRL, TORCH, blood group and blood sugar, to see where the defect lies, as these can be treated. Please do remember that in almost 30-40%, no cause may be found, in which case there are precautions like rest, avoiding lifting weights, and sex during the pregnancy that can be taken to ensure a healthy baby.
