What can be the problem with a single testis?

Q: I am 28 year old, married male, I have only one testis, but I dont have any problem because of that. But I would like to know whether I can father a child? We didn't try for a baby for the last 2 years! Please tell me what can done to see what is wrong in my testis?

A:You need to consult a qualified urologist to get the answers to the following questions. 1. whether your testis in normal position is producing adequate sperms of healthy nature to be able to fertilize an ovum. 2. is there some other cause of your infertiliy (means a thorough examination of you and your wife). 3. do you have another testis and if so it would be better to get rid of it to avoid any (even if very remote) chances of its turning cancerous.
