What can be the cause of a swelling on the glans?
Q: I am 21 years old and there is a small oedematous papule on top of the glans and it worries me that it may be mailignant. This papule is situated at the tip of the urethra and pains only on touch; it is red in colour as if a mosquito has bitten it. There is no exudation of any fluid from it also. It has been there for a few years and does not receed. Please tell me what to do.
A:It is difficult to make a diagnosis without actually seeing the lesion. From your description I suspect that it may be a urethral carbuncle . This is benign, but susceptible to bleeding. The lesion should be removed: please consult a urologist.
