What are the tests I need to undergo before conceiving following a miscarriage?
Q: I am a 34 years old woman who recently had a missed abortion in the eight-week of pregnancy. I am planning to conceive again after six months. What are the tests I should undergo before I conceive? How many months gap is necessary for recovery? Is it alright if I conceive at this age?
A:You can try to conceive after 6 months of your abortion. Though you are on the higher side of age group, you can plan a pregnancy and then follow up with a good obstetrician to rule out anomalies possible on blood test and ultrasound.
After only one missed abortion, usually we do not advise extensive investigations. But if you want you can get your thrombophilia profile done.
