Should I worry about liver cysts?

Q: I have had some unusual stomach discomfort for the past one month and had done ultrasound and endoscopy. There was an irregular cyst in the right lobe of liver (6 cm) and right renal cortical cyst but this cyst was also noticed in my earlier (1998) investigation and I was told this came from my mothers womb and was not harmful. Endoscopy conclusion is reflux oesophagitis D2 diverticula. I have been taking Pantodac and Mozax but still feel discomfort, bloating in stomach and slight burning sensation when the stmach is empty. Also I feel some pain while moving the body i.e. while getting up or while getting down from the car etc. Do I need to do further investigations? Kindly advise. Regards Gururajan

A:If the liver cyst is a simple cyst then no treatment is necessary. No further investigation is required. If this is a complex cyst then further investigation is necessary. Treatment will be determined by further investigations. An experienced radiologist can tell you whether this is simple or complex
