pregnancy test

Q: I am 30 years of age, married 4 years back, with no children. Twice I had abortions (due to non development of sac). Now some days back my periods got over due, the urine test showed weak positive. Doctor prescribed Inj. Life 1000 twice weekly followed by one weekly, but ultrasound report shows that there is no sign of pregnancy (on 45th day) but now urine report says postive. Please guide.

A:At least the fetal node should be seen in the ultrasound [on 45th day]. If it is not showing, that indicates non-viable pregnancy. I suggest that you get the following tests done after a week: ColorDoppler Ultrasound; and blood test for Beta HCG. Since you are having repeated non-viable pregnancies, it is advisable to find the cause for it through specialized investigations including genetic studies. Please let me know the results of your tests and any further queries you may have.
