Plastic correction for phimosis
Q: What is plastic correction procedure for phimosis? How does it work in treatment of phimosis?
A:Plastic correction is one of the procedures done for phimosis (Inability to retract the foreskin due to tightness of the opening). It is an alternative to circumcision (removal of the foreskin, which leaves the underlying sensitive glans exposed). In plastic correction, a small procedure is done to widen the opening of the foreskin so that it can be retracted completely. It is done under local anesthesia and if done properly the results are as good as circumcision.
