My wife is an inactive carrier of hepatitis virus, can we go in for another child?

Q: My wife was found, after tests, to be an inactive carrier of HBsAg during her first pregnancy. My child's reports don't show any traces of HBsAg, and neither did I. Now should we go in for the second child, will it be safe for the coming baby?

A:There is absolutely no problem in carrying another pregnancy. If your wife develops an active hepatitis only then she would require special care. Otherwise the pregnancy should be as uneventful as was the previous one.
