Q: I am 24 years old and have a typical problem. I have seen many new moles surface on my skin all around, over the last 6 months or so. I have 10-12 new moles, mostly around my arms and a couple of them in my face. Some of my friends suggest that the such surfacing of moles is a symptom for cancer. Can u advise me about the same?

A:The appearance of moles is not normally associated with cancers. I do not know how certain you can be that these are really moles. Your age is also against any cancer. Having said that since we do not know whether we are talking of moles or not it will be advisable for you to consult with a doctor, either an oncologist or a dermatologist who should be able to advise you about the proper course of action.
