Is Vasoprin safe during pregnancy?
Q: I am a 29 years female into my third month of pregnancy. I have a previous history of three miscarriages and chronic hypertension. I am on methyldopa and my doctor prescribed Vasoprin (75mg) daily. Is Vasoprin safe during pregnancy?
A:Just confirm that vasoprin is a low dose aspirin. If it is, then continue it. It helps the hypertension, but needs to be stopped at 36 weeks, as it can in a few cases be linked to excessive bleeding in the fetus. Other preparations are ASA also.
