Is there any remedy for my painful blind eye?
Q: I am blind in my right eye since birth. It burns a lot when I do some moderate work. It is smaller in size compared to the left one and there is a lot of irritation. It is always red. Is there any remedy for this? I am a good student. Will I be considered under PH category in competitive exams? I am preparing for IIT-JEE-2006.
A:There are some medications available for painful congested eyes. Also, an ophthalmologist can handle painful blind eyes. There is no better remedy than to keep the eye clean with cool water washes three four times daily. Regarding professional courses like engineering etc., it would not be fair to pursue such courses because the limitations of binocular and field of vision that you have may create difficulties in efficient functioning.
