Is the lifespan after AVR 5 years only?

Q: I underwent AVR 6 months ago and the operation was successful. An echo doppler test was done recently and the result was that the heart function was normal with LVEF at 59%. The INR is well within the limit (2.4). I am taking anticogulant tab acetrom 4 mg every day and leading a normal life, doing all daily household chores. I came across an article in one of the medical periodicals that the patient lives for 5 years only after AVR. I am anxious and worried about it now. Is this true? If yes, then are there any precautions that I can take?

A:It is wrong to state that patient on AVR live only for five years. If patient are meticulously anticoagulated they live longer.
