Q: My daughter had a cleft lip and palatewhen she was born. It got operated before the age of 3 yrs. Now she is at 13 yrs old and the nose is to be corrected/repaired. One of the doctor in Chennai says that he can try to bring up to 60% to 80% of accuracy and he is not giving any guarantee of 100% perfection of nose after surgery. Would you please suggest whether any one in India can correct/repair the nose with 100% accuracy. (The doctor says rhino- plastic surgery). Would very much appreciate your prompt reply.

A:There is no such thing as 100% correction. Improvements can certainly be made, but much depends on the degree of defect at present. If it is substantial, then rhinoplasty can certainly approve things. If there is only a minor aberration, then you need to discuss with your surgeon whether surgery will help.
