Is Novalgin safe for long term use?
Q: I have been regularly taken Novalgin/Analgin tablets for headaches for the last 4-5 years. I take at least 1-2 tablets per week. What are the long-term side effects of these drugs?
A:Novalgin and other analgin preparations are banned all over the world since they can lead to reduction and even disappearance of white blood cells (needed to fight infection). For reasons best known to drug authorities in India, this medicine is openly being manufactured and marketed in India.
