Is it safe to take these medicines during pregnancy?

Q: My wife went for cervical cerclage in the 13th week. Now the gynaecologist has prescribed Augmentin 625 (10 capsules), Duvadilan 40 mg capsules twice daily (for 21 days), Ducal tablets and Anin injection once a week. Are these medicines safe for the baby? Will these hamper my baby's growth?

A:I presume that there had been spontaneous miscarriage(s) in the past to make it necessary for cervical cerclage. Augmentin is an antibiotic for short-term use to make sure that as a result of the procedure, there is no infection. It can be used during pregnancy. Duvadilan (isoxsuprine) is meant to prevent pre-mature labour. Ducal and Anin brands do not appear on the global data bank of medicines. If you let us know their ingredients, we will be happy to respond.
