Is it difficult and risky to conceive after 30 years of age?
Q: I am 29 years old female, married for the last four years. I am currently working and my work schedule is very hectic. Both my husband and I have decided to plan for a child after a couple of years. I have read a lot of articles stating that conceiving after 30 years of age is difficult as well as risky for both the mother and the child. Is it true?
A:If your ovarian reserve is normal, then conceiving at 31 or 32 years of age should not be a problem at all as far as your age is concern. However, it is important to know other factors which can stop you from conceiving easily such as your husband's semen parameters and patency of your genital tract. You can have your baseline hormones done on day 3 of your periods such as FSH, LH, E2 and AMH to know about your ovarian reserve.
