Is it advisable to undergo surgery for migraine?
Q: I have read that surgery for migraine is available. Is it available in India, if yes then where it is available and who are the experts?
A:Whilst a few patients with migraine may need surgery, the vast majority are relieved of their symptoms without it. I urge you to try every means for treating these headaches without surgery. In some patients, identification of an item in their food that triggers off the headache and avoidance of that item may be all that is required. Many can abort their pain by taking a drug such as paracetamol at the very beginning of the attack. Others are relieved by one of the many new drugs now available.
