Is Duvadilan retard safe during pregnancy?
Q: I am a 26 years old female into my fifth month of pregnancy. I am suffering from stomach ache for the past two weeks. I consulted my doctor, who told me that there is no problem and prescribed Duvadilan retard. Am I on right treatment? Why am I suffering from stomach ache? My blood sugar level (random) is 138, fasting – 99 and after food – 142. My doctor told me that I am suffering from high blood sugar level and asked me to take Diamet. But I have heard that the blood sugar level variance happens during pregnancy. I am also controlling my sugar usage and avoid taking medicine. Is it necessary to take the medicine? For calcium, doctor has prescribed Ossopan and I am taking it.
A:Duvadilan Retard is safe in pregnancy and only a doctor who examines you can tell you the cause of the pain, and if she feels that you need to take Duvadilan retard, you should continue with it. From your blood sugar levels, it seems you need not take any medications to control blood sugar, but you should have dietary restriction.
