Is age related macular degeneration curable?
Q: Is there any treatment for age related macular degeneration (ARMD) ? One of my eyes has dry and the other wet type. Please let me know this so that I can be independent.
A:There is no permanent cure for ARMD. In dry form minerals and vitamins (anti oxidants) have been tried to delay progression. The most important thing is to pick up early the conversion to wet form so that early laser treatment may help prevent visual loss. It requires regular amsler grid and regular checkup.
