Is a Tetanus Toxoid shot necessary during pregnancy?
Q: My wife is 6 months pregnant. She has taken TT Tetvac injection, advised by the doctor. Doctor told us that she should take another injection next month. Is TT Tetvac essentially required during pregnancy?
A:An injection of Tetanus Toxoid is recommended during mid-pregnancy (after 5 months) followed by another dose 30 days later. Please make sure that a quality product such as the one manufactured by Serum Institute of India is used.
