Increasing breast milk production
Q: My daughter, 21 years old, had male twins two months ago weighing 2.4 and 2.3 kg respectively. Her breast milk is insufficient for the two babies. She has been advised to supplement it with milk powder. Is there any way to increase breast milk production? If not, which milk powder is better? Is goat milk good for babies?
A:Sometimes lactation is increased by medicines such as Lacatre or by Perinorm tablets. Discuss this, however, with your doctor before using. DO NOT USE GOAT'S MILK. Use any baby milk formula for supplementing feeds. They are all equally good. 'Nan I' is a formula which is more like breast milk - you may wish to try that.
