Q: My son has a hole in his neck whose size is about a needle point. Mucus with a sticky substance comes out which I usually clean with cotton. The age of my son is 3+ months. Please tell me what is this, will it be life-long and what is the remedy?

A:From what you describe, this appears to be a bronchial sinus. These are small openings usually on one side of the centre. They discharge whitish fluid off and on. These are birth defects.
