How to manage polycystic ovarian disease?

Q: I am a 27 year old woman married for 3 years and found to have polycystic ovarian disease (PCOD) syndrome. I have been taking medicine for past two and a half years with no result. With medicines (like Fertomid 150 mg) I do ovulate and fertilization too occurs but implantation is not talking place. My periods get delayed and I get them suddenly with heavy cramps & bleeding. Six IUIs have been done so far. All hormonal tests along with endoscopy have also been done. I just want to know what is the possibility of my conceiving and is there any cure for this problem? How long should I wait to go for adoption? I don't have any stress problem and have also reduced my weight as per my doctors suggestion. I request you to guide me.

A:I understand, PCOD can be a distressing problem but in no way are they infertile totally and do respond to many measures. To begin with, lose 5-7% of your body weight if you are overweight and more if you are obese, this should then be followed by Insulin Sensitisers and then you should go for ovulating drugs.
