Q: I am diabetic since last 5 yrs. on the doctors advice these days taking 2 daonil 5mg b4 brkfast, 2 b4 lunch and 2 b4 dinner as well as 1 850 mg metformin after brkfast, same after lunch and same after dinner Is it harmfull to take too much medicine like this. after taking these abv medicines my sugar level in fasting is 180 and after food 260 random sugar level is around 206 i m fully in diet control kindly suggest can i shift to another medicene or insulin. and with what doses i hve to take
A:- Daonil more than 20 mg/day does not produce additional benefit. You are also on full dose of Metformin. -Since your blood sugar is still not controlled you should take insulin to control blood sugar. Ultimately it is the blood sugar control which is important and not types of drugs.
