How should I protect my knees while jogging?
Q: I am a 34 years old male. What precautions should I take for knees while jogging? My mother is also having regular knee pain.
A:It would be wise to jog on softer surfaces. This is because the impact will, sometime or another have an effect on any part of the body, which is predisposed to injury. This could be the ankles, knees, the back or the neck.
To offset this, you could reduce the chance by wearing shoes with adequate cushioning and support. And do not forget to wear thick, cotton socks to lessen the impact. But my final advice would continue to be "find a softer ground to jog on".
