A:The surgery can be performed at all the major hospitals in India that have neurosurgery departments. These hospitals fall into two groups:

1. Public sector hospitals- These are run by the government or municipal corporation. The cost in public sector hospitals can be quite low. The consultant and resident staff are of high quality. The only deficiency may be as regards creature comforts and the general atmosphere.
2. Private hospitals- The cost in private sector hospitals can vary depending on the class of accommodation you choose. To the best of my knowledge, if you choose the general ward in private hospitals the total expenses may be around Indian Rupees 1,25,000 - 1,50,000. In higher categories, it may reach Rs. 3,00,000.
