How do I get rid of the excess fat on my upper thighs and lower abs?
Q: I have a lot of fat on my thighs, arms, lower abs and hips. I do swimming for 45 minutes daily and aqua-aerobics like cycling and brisk walking in the water for about 15 minutes. I have lost reasonable weight on lower thighs and upper arms and hips. I also do crunches in the water on my back, giving strain on the tummy muscles. Still I don't know how to get rid of the excess fat on the upper thighs and lower abs. I also apply VLCC cellulite oil & gel plus daily use the AB energiser shown on Telebrands. Swimming has really helped me a lot. Do you advise any other water exercises for these parts?
A:Losing weight can be a tough task but one which can be very gratifying for all the other benefits that come along with the ensured exercise routine! Losing weight or fat content in the body, is the culmination of a good aerobics program, (which you are doing well) some simple muscular strength work and a balanced healthy , nutritious diet - one low in calories. The idea is to make sure that calories are spent by way of extra energy by the body and not put back by way of high calorie food. This can take a some time depending on how many calories you are spending in your output and putting back in terms of your food. An ideal benchmark to go by is about 2-4 kg a month of weight loss in a month. Continue the aerobic exercises like you have been doing and add to your routine some simple abdominal crunches, some back extensions, some simple pushups and some squats and lunges to make the muscles stronger. You can either do this in the water or vary your schedule by doing them alternate time on land and in water! Most of all have patience and don't be hard on yourself. By being depressed, you will only lessen your grit and determination to excel. You are on the right path, continue on it and also understand that you are gaining in other areas besides only losing weight. Your health will see an upward gain and you will find a higher self esteem and self confidence that will take you through this with great results!
