How do I develop tolerance to milk products?

Q: I am a 23 years old male facing the problem of lactose intolerance for the last one year. I get loose motions, stomach ache, intestinal gas whenever I take milk and this continues for 4-5 days. I have stopped taking milk and lassi because of the same. Kindly suggest some food products that would not cause stomach problems. What shall I do to develop tolerance to milk products?

A:You should try taking soy milk instead of cow milk. Also try taking paneer (cottage cheese) in little quantity, to begin with. Then if there is no problem you can increase the quantity. Also take in sprouts, peanuts, dals, soy products to get enough protein.
