How can wide hips be brought in shape?
Q: My friend has a problem with his physique. His buttock size is not suitable to his body and is too big, like a woman's. Please suggest suitable exercises or any remedy, which can bring his buttocks in shape.
A:The bad news is that if your friend has wide hips, part of that is a function of his bone structure, wider pelvis, wider hips. It should not to be very difficult to tone and get the hips in shape as we use these muscles regularly. He can try the following exercises twice a week and gradually thrice a week and then 5 times a week. He can do these exercises for 10-15 counts. 1) Start spot jogging for 15 minutes as part of warming up exercises. 2) Start with feet width apart. Step backward with left leg, keeping heel off the floor bend both the knees until right thigh is parallel to the floor and left thigh is perpendicular to it. Pause and return to the original position to start again. 3) Lie on your back with knees bent, feet slightly apart, arms at your sides, squeeze glutei together and tighten your abdominal muscles. Continue squeezing till you raise your pelvis. Hold for three counts and back. Start with your mid back and end with your tail bone. 4) Sit on the floor with your legs straight in front of you. Move on your hips alternately from one end of the room to the other. This is a very difficult exercises as it puts strain on your back too. Start with 1 round and maximum do 3 rounds. 5) He can do exercises thrice a week and do cycling or swimming twice a week if he wants to avoid monotony.
