How can I take out thermocol balls from my son's ears?

Q: My 7-year-old son has put thermocol balls into his ears. I have taken them out but one is still there. I have put Soliwax in his ears, but have still not been able to take out the one remaining ball. His ears secrete a lot of wax. Is it safe to use Soliwax frequently or is there some other mild eardrop available?

A:Thermocol balls will not come out by putting wax softeners. In fact they may swell up making removal more difficult. Take your child to an ENT surgeon for the needful. Wax is a normal secretion and has a self cleansing capacity if you don't fiddle with the ears too much. The role of wax softening drops is just to make it more soft so that it comes out easily.
