Q: My four-year old son has stopped going to school, saying that all children beat him up in the school and also the teacher scolds him. We checked with his teacher, but she says there is nothing like that in the school. My child keeps saying that he is a bad boy and will never go to school. Till last month he was very normal and was happily going to school. What should I do to tackle this situation?

A:Children do not change their behaviour suddenly without any reason. In other words, there must be some event at home or school, which has disturbed the child. It could be the arrival of a new baby, shifting of house or the departure of a grandparent. You will have to locate the cause for the child's unwillingness to go to school, which may be something that happened in the last one month.
