How can I get rid of my epididymal pain?
Q: I am 24 years old male, and I have a pain in my epididymis on both sides for the past 5 months. I am a virgin but I used to masturbate 2-3 times a day. However, I have stopped it for the past 3 months. I underwent a varicose surgery a month ago, but my testicles still pain, especially the right one. I do not suffer from epididymitis as per my sonography report, but there is a stone in my right kidney. The stone is 4 mm in size. What should I do? Can exercise reduce my pain?
A:In this situation the first thing that you need to find is whether or not your epididymal/ testicular pain is a referred pain from your kidney because of your stone. Though it is very unlikely, still it may be worth consulting a urologist. You have done well by stopping masturbation for a while as it does increase congestion in the testicular region and could explain your pain. After varicocoele surgery it takes a while before abnormal sensation and the testicular heaviness goes away. Just stick to conservative measures such as testicular support while walking and pain killers if need be. I am sure your pain will settle down and your urologist could always assist you in reassurance and facilitating treatment of your problem.
