How can a torn ligament in pelvis be tested?
Q: Can a gastroenterologist tell whether a ligament is strained or torn by doing a proctoscopy? Does this require an x-ray? What medical test would be required to find out whether a ligament surrounding the rectum and colon is strained or torn?
A:In order to find out whether any ligament in the pelvis is torn or not, an MRI would perhaps be a very good test. Proctoscopy is not going to be helpful in this regard.
