Does trace of albumin signify kidney malfunction?

Q: I am a 34 years old male and have been experiencing difficulty in passing urine for the past two weeks. The ultrasound report states that there is a tiny stone in my urinary tract along with 3 pus cells. The doctor prescribed me antibiotics for five days and I felt better initially but again I am facing the same problem. Now, the doctor has asked me to go for a kidney function test as albumin traces have been found in my urine report. As per the doctor, albumin traces signify that the kidney is not functioning properly. What shall I do now?

A:Keep drinking small quantity of water every 45-60 minutes. Your symptoms will be relieved once the stone comes out, which can take 2-3 weeks. Get an Xray KUB done and consult a urologist. Taking steroids 30 mg once a day for 5 days helps in removing the stone.
