Does the BCG vaccine eliminate the risk of TB?

Q: My son is 11 months old. He has taken the BCG vaccine but even then his skin test, blood test and x-ray were positive for primary complex or TB. Is there any Ayurvedic treatment for this infection? Also, I want to know the side effects of English medicine? Why didn’t the BCG vaccine work?

A:We have to be sure that what we have diagnosed as primary complex, is truly a primary complex. BCG vaccination does not completely eliminate the risk of development of tuberculosis. However, it protects against disseminated severe tubercular infection. I have no idea about ayurvedic medicines. The allopathic medicines used to treat tuberculosis are generally tolerated well. However, sometimes they may be associated with certain side effects.
