Does my child have primary complex?

Q: My 15 months old son had fever for 3 days now. He has phlegm inside but doesn't cough all the time. He also has lymph nodes on his neck. The doctor says that it may be possible that he has primary complex and after the fever has gone, we need to observe if the lymph nodes go too. If not then my son will need a chest x-ray. He has been prescribed Ambroxol. Please advise.

A:Please follow the advice that your doctor has given. Lymph nodes are often present in the neck in children and they are of no consequence provided they do not grow in size. If they persist or if your child remains unwell, please carry out the investigation you have been advised.
