Does glaucoma cause glare in the eyes?
Q: I am 28 years old and have myopia since eight years. My eyes were operated by radial keratotomy and now I have -2.5 cylinders in both eyes. Since then I have problems with night vision. I went for a check up and the doctor said that I have glaucoma, the pressure being 20.6 & 22. What is glaucoma? Will it damage my eyes in future? What is the treatment for it? Can the glare and glaucoma from my eyes be reduced if I use the latest technology of VISX STAR S4?
A:Your problem of glare is a result of the incisions of radial keratotmy and this will not go away with lasik laser. Glaucoma is high eye pressure which causes optic nerve damage and is treated with medicines or surgery. Myopia can be corrected by glasses, contact lenses or surgery.
