Do pre-term contractions have any adverse effects on the fetus?
Q: During my pregnancy, I had a premature contraction at 21 weeks. I was put on absolute bed rest immediately and was prescribed uterus relaxation medicines. Now I am in my 35th week and doing fine. Does pre-term contraction have any bad effect on the fetus? I have stopped those medicines according to my doctors advice. Please advise.
A:If you are fine till 35 weeks, then no harmful effect should be there.
