Do I need to undergo immunotherapy for house dust mite allergy?

Q: I am a 23 years old male allergic to house dust mites. The symptoms are moderate but I never took medication for it. For the last 5 - 6 years I have had swelling on the cheekbones. Should I get immunotherapy done?

A:Immunotherapy for house dust mite allergy is not currently practised in the UK. It has generally been more difficult to show benefit for this type of allergy than for pollen allergies.
