Do I need to take medication for chest pain after heart surgery?
Q: I am a 70 years old man who underwent heart surgery 3 months back. Now I am taking Nervigen twice daily but still have pain near my upper chest ribs particularly on the right side. This sometimes restricts the movement of my left hand. Is it a muscular pain or is it due to the rib bones? Will it continue or can it be alright in sometime? How long do I need to take Nervigen?
A:After extensive surgery, it is not uncommon to suffer from pain in the area of surgery, which is generally of neuropathic and/or muscular origin. In due course it disappears though in some cases, it may take a few months. No medication is required.
