Children - lump at injection site
Q: My daughter is 7 months old. There is a lump of about 1 cm below the left armpit due to BCG injection. After consulting the doctor, it was advised that nothing be done about it. What should we do?
A:The formation of a BCG gland after innoculation in the left armpit is acommon problem in a pediatrician,s office. If the lump is not growing and is not tethered to the overlying skin with impending rupture, then you should leave it alone. It shall disappear spontaneously in 6 to 12 months with no long term side effects. Your child does not have a weak immune system at all.
