Can stones recur in the common bile duct?
Q: I am 25 years old. I had an operation 2 years back for stone in the common bile duct (CBD). Do I have the risk of stone recurring in the CBD ? My gall bladder was also removed in the operation.
A:Yes, there is a risk of stone being formed again in the common bile duct. However, the risk is very small perhaps much less than 5%.
