Q: I am 34 years old and working in LIC of India for the past 10 years. Recently I have found out that I am having a large heart. I did my ECG which is OK. I am a social drinker weighing 95 kgs and 180 cms tall. Please suggest if I should go for more tests?

A:I am not clear about how you have concluded that your heart is enlarged. If it was on X-ray chest then you need to have an echocardiogram. If the echo shows enlarged chambers especially the left or right ventricle, you need to see a cardiologist. Any way if you are in doubt, see your physician. Social drinking should not lead to heart enlargement. Excessive drinking however can lead to it.
