Can my father get health insurance for travelling abroad?
Q: My father is 57-years-old. Can he get a health insurance if he plans to travel to America next year. He doesn't smoke or drink. Had been healthy throughout his life. He had a mini-stroke last year for the first time. I think it was due to heightened infection from food. He is absolutely fine now. He is taking one tablet of Warfarin (anticoagulant) and getting a monthly blood test. How much will it cost and what will it cover?
A:Your father can definitely take a health insurance policy in India. He can take a policy viz. International Travel Health Insurance in case he requires any treatment during his travel or he may take a regular health insurance policy for treatment when he is in India either before or after a trip. At his age he may though be asked to take a few tests before he is issued a policy.
