Can I get calcium deposits on my bladder through intercourse?
Q: I have been told that I have numerous calcifications posterior to the urinary bladder & there is no free air or free fluid. How does this happen and what is the treatment? My boyfriend takes 96 tablets a week of Tums 600 mg each. Is there any chance that I could be getting calcium through intercourse with him?
A:You can't have calcium through intercourse. By what investigation you are told to have calcification. There are uterus and ovaries behind the bladder and you can have calcified myoma etc. Don't worry about this. If you still have doubts, get your serum calcium done. As for your boyfriend, I wonder why he is taking that much of calcium - are his kidneys are not working properly.
